About Me and the Station

Hello! My name is Lisa and I am the proud yet often frustrated owner of a female German Shepherd mix named Rikku. She might have some chow in her, maybe some akita, maybe some husky–who knows! But she is high-strung and very testy sometimes. I adopted her at 8 weeks from a rescue shelter in June, and I’ve been reading up about dogs and dog training for a year now. I’ve been working with her constantly to try and be the best owner I can be for her, but also to make sure she has some boundaries. Her attitude and my ignorance has led me to seek out information, do research, and create a site to help owners like me. Owners who love their dogs and want things to work out regardless of how long it might take!

I’m here to help you set some boundaries and be the best owner YOU can be for your puppy or dog. And let’s face it–we all want the best relationship possible with our dogs. They are our pride and joy, and not only are they great companions, but they cost a lot. They cost us our time, effort, money, stress, heart, tears, everything! So we owe it to them and to ourselves to try and and get them to be the best dogs they can be!

So I’m here to learn and to teach what I’ve learned. And The Dog Training Station (DTS) is here to help me teach you. I’ll have links to articles and videos, as well as useful ebooks and whatnot. Some things may cost money to follow through, others are free, and others are just suggestions. It’s up to you how you want to spend your time and/or your money here through the station. I’m just here to offer you different stops along the way!
